Prince Jackson Shares Poem On Michael Jackson “The Man” For Late Dad’s Birthday
Michael Jackson would’ve turned 58 on Monday. In honor of his birthday, son Prince Jackson shared a poem celebrating “the man,” not just “the legend.”
Prince tweeted, “Today we celebrate the birthday of a legend, but don’t forget to celebrate the Man. Here is a sonnet written for him.” The poem is titled, “The Myth, The Legend, The Man,” and is credited to “Michael Jackson Jr.” It begins, “To many he is king, to me, a man/All he inspires, to lead a noble cause.”
Another part reads, “The many know the Legend and the Myth, A lucky few know the Man as he is.” And the last lines are, “He is the archangel known as Michael/He is with us and our tears we must stifle.” Prince also posted the poem on Instagram, writing in the caption, “Happy birthday to the Man who was more than a legend. I love you.”
One fan wrote in response, “Aww prince that’s so sweet. Your dad would be so proud of u.” Another commented, “Great words from the bottom of the heart. Thank You for sharing. His eyes…your eyes and blood…is a Huge message He left. Big Hug for You, P, B and your special mom.” And on Twitter, one follower told Prince, “That’s a great way of remembering Michael Jackson on his birthday. #HappyBirthdayMichaelJackson.”
